Smell Gas                                                                                        

If you smell gas:

DO :
                Turn off the gas supply at the meter.
                Open doors and windows.

DON'T :
               Smoke
               Use naked flames.
               Turn electric switches on or off

Transco operate their round-the-clock, 365 days-a-year emergency service for gas escapes and will stop an escape free of charge. If a leak is suspected within your property, the engineer will carry out a soundness test at the meter to determine whether there is an escape on the customer side of the control valve.

This done the engineer will inspect gas appliances and installations in the property to evaluate if there is any immediate danger, whether there is an "At Risk" situation, a "concern for safety" or whether the property is safe.
