Servicing

Gas appliances need regular servicing by appropriately qualified engineers, to ensure, not only your safety, but also that the appliance is operating efficiently.

This is a requirement of the governments Gas regulations, which recommend that a regular maintenance schedule should be followed. Manufacturers recommend at least an annual service which often forms a condition of their guarantee.

From 2007, a record of previous appliance servicing will form part of the Home Buyers Pack, which will document details of all maintenance and repair work which has been completed. There is now  a "Benchmark" scheme which requires that all new appliances be  properly maintained

Servicing your gas appliances can be compared to having a car serviced and MOT'ed, as if neglected, both can be dangerous. However, gas appliances are inherently safe and incorporate modern safety devices, but don't put your own and your families safety at risk from Carbon Monoxide poisoning or dangerous situations.

Ensure you have your gas appliances regularly serviced by fully qualified service engineers.
